November 3 Meeting: Retired Colonel Richard Julian, Assistant Veteran Service Officer for Knox County

Please join us at the November 3rd meeting to learn more Col. Julian's military service and Knox County Veteran Services.

RICHARD JULIAN BIO:

Retired Tennessee Air National Guard Colonel Richard Julian, 67, was named Knox County's Assistant Veteran Service Officer in June 2011.

Col. Julian spent nearly four decades of his life in the military. He retired in 2004 after spending 38 years in the Air National Guard.

Col. Julian began his career with the Tennessee Air National Guard in 1965, working his way up to 134th Air Refueling Wing Support Group Commander in 1998. He held that post until his retirement in 2004. In addition to overseeing a $23 million programming and construction project and managing an $11 million annual budget, much of Col. Julian's work focused on helping veterans access the programs and services to which they are entitled.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to put my military experience to work for Knox County's veterans," Col. Julian said. "I am committed to helping our servicemen and women in any way possible, because they deserve nothing less."
