February 2 Meeting: Joe Jarret, Knox County Law Director; John Whitehead, Candidate for Knox County Property Assessor


Please join us at the February 2nd meeting to meet Joe Jarret, who is seeking re-election for the Knox County Law Director, and John Whitehead, who is seeking election for the Knox County Property Assessor.

JOE JARRET BIO:


Joe Jarret is the Knox County Law Director and a life-long conservative Republican who has been practicing local government law for over twenty-one years. This is the third time in his career that he has served as chief legal counsel for a government entity.

Joe is an experienced trial lawyer who has practiced law before the Tennessee Supreme Court, lower Tennessee state courts, federal courts, and is a Federal Mediator and Arbitrator and a Tennessee State Mediator.

Joe is a former active duty United States Army Armored Cavalry Officer and former United States Air Force Special Agent with service overseas.

Joe is an adjunct lecturer with UT's Graduate School of Public Administration and regularly lectures at UT's College of Law on local government law. He is the 2009 recipient of the Gordon Johnston Award for Excellence in the Practice of Local Government Law.

Joe is an award-winning writer who has published over 90 articles in various professional journals and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, a Master's Degree in Public Administration, and a Juris Doctor degree.
